DayDayDream
Introduction
This project is a musical animation of font dynamics and graphic dynamics. I am interested in the animated game aspect of content I want to do in the future, as well as paper media. In terms of present ability, I think dynamic content with music attracts people's attention more, as well as I myself like and learn to do music animation videos. Therefore, I chose to do motion graphics animation for my graduation project.
Research

Dancing lions and band THE EITHER

from Left to Right: Beijing life in the park 1, Beijing life in the park 2, Hongkong night, Daydaydream album cover, song visual illustration, and in game city background image
The music for Daydaydream is taken from the game Arknights. The song is band THE EITHER using the traditional Chinese musical instruments playing the unusual Chinese music style, which may heard strange when you first time listen to it, but the more you listen to it, the better it sounds, and the more you want to listen to it. It's my one of favorite song in this game. At the same time I recently fell in love with the Chinese dragon and lion dances, so I wanted to show them in my work.
Design Process

Story Board

Animation is difficult. Especially when dealing with certain transitions or dynamics, the result was not what I thought it would be, and it was hard to make a smooth connection between each scene. Some of the animations didn't work the way I wanted them to, so I changed some of my designs to use some of the dynamics I can do now.
Final Motion Design

In terms of content filling, I tried a lot of dynamic subtitles to make the picture rich. The color choices were one traditional Chinese color scheme and one using the main color scheme tones within the game. The animation was eventually changed from a simple black and white and gray color scheme to a colorful one.
